Born in Munich 1957. I initially trained as a French translator, but my dream was to live in France and to become involved in the Paris art scene. With this aim, in my early 20s, I was attending art classes of the Beaux Arts Montparnasse and obtained a position with the French CONDE NAST PUBLICATIONS (VOGUE, VOGUE HOMMES, DECORATION INTERNATIONALE, GLAMOUR magazines). The glamorous world of high end fashion and lifestyle magazines inspired me as an artist and provided invaluable work experience.
Returning to Germany in 1986 I pursued a career working as photo editor, art buyer and photo director for the German editions of VOGUE, HARPER’S BAZAAR, COSMOPOLITAN and eventually ELLE. In 2008, I was appointed Deputy Editor-in-Chief of German ELLE magazine, a position I held until 2017.
In tandem with my career in publishing, I always maintained my passion for illustration and painting and regularly contributed work, as an artist for the above publications (world-wide) and for other commercial uses. My canvas paintings have been featured in exhibitions and commissioned for interior projects. In 2018, I decided to concentrate fully on art and also started teaching for ART SPOT at Museum Villa Stuck in Munich.
